Location

The hacienda Temozon is located on the Yucatan peninsula, 24 miles (38 kilometers) from Merida international airport. Hidden in a zone whose cultural wealth is comparable only with its natural attractions, the hacienda Temozon offers not only an ideal place for resting, but also the possibility of visiting fascinating Maya ruins, colonial convents and crystalline cenotes.

The modern Merida International Airport serves as destination for several direct flights from the U.S. and connecting flights from Latin America and the Caribbean (through Mexico City and other hubs). Major airlines with service at Merida include: Mexicana, Continental, Aero Mexico and Delta. The hacienda is only a short flight from these major cities: Mexico City (1 hr, 40 min), Houston (1 hr, 50 min), Miami (1 hr, 30 min), Cancun (35 min).

Driving Directions from Merida Airport: After leaving the airport turn left, following the signs Cancun, after 2 miles (3 kilometers), turn right of the bridge to get on the ring road to Cancun. After 2 miles (3 kilometers), turn right and take the highway to Campeche (No. 180), after 8 miles (13 kilometers) take a right turn after the sign indicating: Uxmal / Xtepen / Chetumal. Continue for another 9 miles (14 kilometers) (passing the villages of Xtepen and Yaxcopoil) take a left turn after the sign “Temozon Sur”. The Hacienda is about 3 miles (5 kilometers) from the main road. You will enter first the village of Sinhunchen and then turn left to arrive at the village of Temozon Sur. The hacienda is on the right side once you enter the village.

Driving directions from Cancun: Take the Highway (toll road) Cancun – Merida after 186 miles (300 kilometers), arriving at the ring road in Merida, turn left following signs indicating Campeche, after approximately 6 miles (10 kilometers) turn right from the ring road and take the highway to Campeche (No. 180), after 8 miles (13 kilometers) take a right turn after the sign indicating: Uxmal / Xtepen / Chetumal. Continue for another 9 miles (14 kilometers) (passing the villages of Xtepen and Yaxcopoil) take a left turn after the sign “Temozon Sur”. Airport transfer: Merida International Airport is about 24 miles (38 kilometers) from the hacienda and the ride takes approximately 30 minutes. The transfer from and to the hacienda should be requested in advance.

Car rentals: Upon arrival you can rent a car at the airport or in the city centre of Merida but you can also arrange a car to wait for you upon arrival at the hacienda through our reservation office. Yucatan counts with an excellent infrastructure, most roads are not older than 3 years. It is very safe to drive around, people are extremely friendly and always willing to help you.

Climate: The warm, humid climate of the Yucatan Peninsula, where annual rainfall is around 60 days, results in beautiful sunshine 300 days a year.

Currency: Mexican Peso; the U.S. Dollar is widely accepted throughout the area.
